Your President, the giggling murderer stated Monday that both evolution and intelligent design should be taught in public schools across the nation. Mr. Bush stated in an interview, "I felt like both sides ought to be properly taught." – Evolution vs. Intelligent Design – One a scientific theory and the other is a controversial declaration that features in the universe such as life are best explained as ID (Intelligent Design). ID doesn’t necessarily point the finger at God as being the mastermind behind life on earth and possibly elsewhere, however most advocates of ID believe that the so-called “Designer” is God or some intelligent life form such as aliens.
The creation story or creationism points to God as being that intelligent source, but we must understand that the evolution theory has its place. Neither can be completely proven, however both can be one. Here’s what I mean by that – the Bible, Torah and Koran have their own versions of the “Creation Story”. Most intelligent people can understand that these books are not meant to be taken word for word and individuals who do this are “extremist”, whether it be Jew, Muslim or Christian. They can’t be taken literally. They do provide a logical guide to living a moral life, but let me get back to my point.
ID is something that is pushed by the Christian Right (Evangelical nut jobs) to push their agenda, they want to remove the Evolution Theory from public schools, just as they want prayer back in school - I personally don’t disagree – If you’re not Christian, but a Jew, Muslim, Buddhist or atheist don’t participate, say your particular prayer or consider it quite time (yeah, if I did so should you). Can you believe in an Omnipotent power and still believe in the Evolution Theory? Yes. Intelligent Design? No. ID isn’t the same as the Evolution Theory. You can accept that the E theory took place and that a higher power allowed for this process to take place. Now I might sound like a nut job myself, but I believe in a higher power and I believe that there is a force that created what we refer to as life. Did it happen in 7 days? Of course not, there’s so much left to explain. I think that’s one of the many great gifts this unrestricted power gave man kind; curiosity.
