"A growing number of companies will have to disclose their past ties to slavery if they want to do business with government units around the nation." I encourage you to read this article, very interesting.
I've noticed a lot of cities are starting to require companies that receive city and / or government contracts to disclose any company or parent company activities with regards to slavery. Oakland were I reside happends to be one of them. The ordinance requires companies to disclose there involvement in the slave trade. If they're found to have had involvement then they can donate monies to different projects. Of course an ordinance like that would never pass if it required those companies to fund programs or provide scholarships to those black communities in which they operate. It's not too much to ask of them. True we (African-Americans; I prefer Black) Have made some strides here and there. Where much better off than we were oh, hell let's say 30-40 years ago. However let's take a look at the Jews; oh yes the Jews, here we go with that again.
I personally have nothing against them; my point is simple: They (Jews) have made tremendous achievements and they should be applauded for those accomplishments. Despite their success they continue to protect and watch out for their own. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. So the moment we're (African Americans) up in arms about slavery - it's get over it time. I think we'd like the same respect Jews get when dealing with something that plagued their culture years and years ago; however I think we've reached a point in time were we can no longer hold any weight to what others say. We as a community need to get our sh** together, simple as that. We need to look out for us and us only. Racist! No not a racist nor a separatist. If we better our selves we better the nation. Jews have interacted with the communities and people around them from the get, but they practiced (and still do) Zionism and no one screams or complains. The day African Americans practice Black Nationalism is when we will begin to understand our economic power in this capitalist society. Black Nationalism hasn't really been practiced since the days of what I call the North American Apartheid; it's' not some old revolutionary theory - it's black economics working for blacks.

Cool site man I see you been doing some work. I see you are bringing your political side out and to the net.
